Mission successfully completed!!! Saturday 29th November 2008 saw the first day of trading in the NEW Nanaga Farm Stall – and what a day it was.
As with any relocation, be it commercial or domestic, we were not without our teething problems, but with the unconditional support of the extremely loyal and dedicated staff the first day can only be termed a resounding triumph.
A ten year long dream turned into the “here and now” for Leigh-Anne MacKenzie, and husband Malcolm. The first sod of earth was turned in February this year. “It has seemed a long and arduous road to have reached this point.” said Leigh-Anne reflectively. “There were many setbacks and hold ups, and obstacles to overcome, and occasionally I would dissolve into tears of frustration – and total panic – but it was absolutely worth it – every minute!” confirmed Leigh. “It has been an experience of a life time.”
A walk through the NEW Nanaga Farm Stall speaks volumes. The enormous amount of time and effort that has been spent in maintaining the very essence of the “old” farm stall, the ambience and the feel has, without a doubt, paid off. Congratulations are certainly in order for the meticulous manner in which Leigh-Anne has transformed a brand new building into a homely, warm and inviting haven, having captured all the charm of country living.
Set 1.7km from the site of the “old” Farm Stall the new building looks impressive with the gigantic double doors standing wide open, and a long verandah running the entire length of the building. There is ample parking, and a delightful garden where one can stretch ones legs and a jungle gym for youngsters to expend some of their energy.
Once inside one is immediately struck by the relaxed atmosphere. The pretty quadrangle offers access to the restaurant and country pub (the huge fireplace will be a star attraction in the winter months), the new butchery and deli, and to the heart of the Nanaga Farm Stall – the bakery! Where the most famous pies in the land are made – still individually crafted by hand, and still with the delectable, succulent fillings encased in a shell of melt-in-the-mouth pastry!!!!!
The entire layout of the Farm Stall is conducive to a casual and informal mood that lifts ones spirit.
For those of you who have not yet have not yet been exposed to the Nanaga Experience – we say “Welcome to a slice of country lifestyle at it very best.”
To our regular customers we say “Thank you - to each and every one of you - for you your overwhelming encouragement, backing and steadfast belief in us. Your wonderful response and warm wishes sustained us throughout the move, and your patience and forbearance during our initial start up was immensely appreciated.”
However, it is clearly understood by Leigh-Anne and her team, that whilst the physical transfer has been completed there will be, by the very nature of the relocation, unforeseen and unexpected pitfalls, and new challenges presenting themselves which will have to be dealt with as they arise – on a day to day basis.
We beg for a continuance of the tolerance that the public has granted us, as we strive to iron out the inevitable issues with a move of this magnitude. We are, after all, still a farm stall and are determined not to commercialize our business and loose our identity, and our aim to this end is to forge new relationships and preserve the ones we are privileged to have.
